ESSENCE reports that Hyper Skin, a dark-skinned woman-owned company, has found success with its Melaned Skin skincare line.

The award-winning brand, led by founder Desire Verdejo, has signed an agreement with Sephora, bringing its products to the shelves of more than 250 stores nationwide.

"We are pleased to officially open 250 Sephora stores across the country," Verdejo said in a statement.

The next big thing for Sephora will be the development of small and independent beauty brands.

Hyper Skin's first product launched in 2019 was Hyper Clear Brightening Clearing Vitamin C Serum.

The brand focuses on helping its black and brown customers get rid of stubborn acne.
