In Bustle's 7-Day Skin video series, stylists walk us through their 7-day skincare routines and the products they rely on to keep their skin looking 10/10 at work, play and play.
Famous makeup artist Vincent Oquendo is an expert in the art of makeup. With celebrity clients like Journey Smollett, Nina Dobrev and Laura Harrier, several iconic red carpet moments under her belt (like Candice Swanepoel's red lips) and a catwalk line-up credited as the show's lead makeup artist, she can say with confidence that she is no other master of beauty for her.
As a true beautician, Oquendo knows that self-care doesn't start with makeup, but with what goes on under the skin. Good skincare habits are crucial to keeping your skin happy, healthy and hydrated and Oquendo always prepares their clients' skin to provide a flawless base for makeup application. Along the way, she's developed her own impressive skincare routine that helps keep her skin in tip-top shape despite early calls, frequent travel and her jet-set lifestyle.
In this episode of Bustles 7 Days of Skin, Vincent Oquendo talks about his daily skincare routine for a week in life, from preparing a client for a morning TV gig to opening the EDITION Hotel in Tampa, Florida. Watch videos of the products she relies on for a good rest and purchase.
Monday
Oquendo starts the week with True Botanicals Ginger Turmeric Cleansing Balm. She said she likes this product because it easily fits into her busy lifestyle. "I never have time to do anything, not even wash my face occasionally, and it helps cleanse my skin so I look fresh on all my Zoom dates," she says. After applying the cleansing balm, Oquendo wipes off with a warm, damp washcloth and gets ready to start her work day.
Tuesday
She started with one of the Lumify Redness Reliever Eye Drops on each eye and continued with the True Botanicals Pure Radiance Oil, which boosts radiance while fighting dryness or dullness within the first hour of use. Oquendo makes sure to apply the product to her neck and even her hair. "I just love to sparkle," she says.
On Wednesday
Getting on a plane doesn't mean Oquendo is out of skincare. In no time she cares for her lips with our moisturizing lip balm. She also understands that skin care isn't just about your neck; Oquendo keeps skin hydrated in an instant with Chanel La Crème flagship hand cream.
Thursday
For a light exfoliation, she opts for Oquendo French Pharmacy Elixir Exfoliant, an oil that gently renews the skin with alpha hydroxy acids and enzymes. She then uses Al Attar's Monastic Flower Restoring Concentrate, a creamy balm, to moisturize her lips and face.
Friday
To wake up tired eyes after a flight, she chooses Oquedo Clarins Total Eye Lift. Before calming her clients, she uses Byredo Vetiver Hand Lotion, which she always carries in her bag to ensure her hands are clean and smell nice before applying makeup to her clients' faces.
Saturday
Who says skincare has to be intense? In the car on the way to work, Oquendo puts on a Toyos chlorine eye mask and antioxidant patch to slightly improve the skin's condition.
Sunday
Relaxing on the couch after a long week, Oquendo dons a Loops Night Shift face mask and finishes with a rosewater mist by Mario Badescu for pure relaxation.
