Aging is an inevitable natural process and we have to accept the fact that our skin becomes dull and tired over time. However, dermatologists and nutritionists have shown a link between flawless skin and lifestyle changes.

According to the beautician Dr. Mittal Gupta's Geetics, there are several factors that can affect skin health, many of which are genes, environment and lifestyle habits.

Our skin, as the largest organ in the body, often bears the burden of various factors that can have a negative impact on the body. Regularity to ensure a good skin care routine, as well as exercise, diet and sleep helps prevent various problems, making aging a positive factor.

Dr. Gupta listed six ways to help your skin age gracefully.

peeled off

Exfoliation means removing dead skin cells and promoting healthy cell turnover. I recommend exfoliating 2-3 times a week as this can prevent fine lines and wrinkles from appearing too quickly. Salicylic acid, glycolic acid, mandelic acid, and even lactic acid are all great exfoliating chemicals to include in your skin care routine.

sunscreen

Many dermatologists and experts believe that the daily use of SPF prevents a person from various skin problems. "Wearing sunscreen every day is a must. It acts as a protective layer against harmful UV rays, helping to prevent collagen breakdown," writes Dr. Gupta in his post.

FACIAL EXPRESSIONS

Perhaps few people know this, but skin loses its elasticity or suppleness with repeated expressions over time. "Facial expressions such as smiling, frowning and squinting make wrinkles more visible. Avoid repetitive facial expressions," he added.

BALANCED DIET

Diet is one of the most important factors for healthy aging. Make sure you get enough protein, nutrients and vitamins in a day to have glowing skin. "Maintaining a healthy, balanced diet is essential for your skin, providing your body with the right amount of nutrients and helping to maintain a radiant glow," writes Dr. Gupta.

ALCOHOL

Dr. Gupta recommends reducing alcohol consumption as it strips the skin of moisture. Causes relaxation and wrinkles.

ADD RETINOL

Adding retinol to your skin care regimen in your late 20s or early 30s can be beneficial. "Retinol has anti-aging properties. It strengthens collagen, reduces fine lines and wrinkles, and improves skin tone," writes Dr. Gupta.

However, it adds a warning that you should always consult an expert before starting any new product containing retinol, as it can increase the cleansing process, due to a sudden increase in the cell turnover process.

“Healthy skin indicates a healthy body. Always use the right product for you," said Dr. Gupta.
