The skin is the largest organ in the human body and reflects a person's age and health, so it is important to take care of it. Now that winter is drawing to a close, people in this part of the world need to prepare for the inevitable summer heat.
The high temperatures and humid weather during the summer months are tough on your skin, so it's important to know how best to keep your skin healthy.
1. Protect your skin from the sun
Regardless of the season, the sun is always shining in Dubai and can damage skin if proper precautions are not taken. Wrinkles, age spots, aging and thinning skin, and an increased risk of skin cancer are potential issues to be aware of.
The easiest and best way to combat the sun's harmful UV rays is to use a broad spectrum sunscreen with at least SPF 30 (SPF). Apply sunscreen liberally and reapply every two hours and during activities such as swimming.
In addition to using sunscreen, avoid too much sun exposure between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. when the sun is at its strongest. If going outside during this time is unavoidable, be sure to wear protective clothing, such as long-sleeved shirts and wide-brimmed hats, to protect yourself.
2. Wash gently
You should always do your best to maintain basic skin hygiene to ensure the best for your skin. By cleaning it regularly you will maintain its shine and overall health.
When cleansing your skin it is important to use hot water as hot water can strip the skin of its natural oils. Use a gentle cleanser that won't irritate your skin and wash gently rather than vigorously scrubbing. After that, pat your skin dry without rubbing it with a towel. It protects your skin's natural barrier and prevents dryness or irritation.
3. Avoid dry skin
Hydration of the skin is important to maintain its hydration and overall health. When you hydrate your skin, you help hydrate and retain moisture in the top layer of skin cells. This is important as hydrated skin is more resilient and less prone to dryness, flaking and irritation. For best results, it's important to use a gentle moisturizer appropriate for your skin type and apply it daily after cleansing.
Most importantly, the most obvious way to keep skin cells hydrated is to drink plenty of water.
4. Healthy Eating
Foods high in sugar, salt, and saturated fat should be avoided and include fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains, lean proteins, and healthy fats like nuts, avocados, coconut oil, and olives, which contain antioxidants that help maintain healthy skin to obtain. . The cells are healthy.
Certain nutrients are particularly important for skin health. These include omega-3 fatty acids, which can keep skin supple and hydrated and protect against sun damage, and zinc, which supports skin integrity and wound healing.
Vitamins are also important. Vitamin A is important for the growth and maintenance of healthy skin cells, vitamin B2 helps maintain collagen levels, and vitamin B6 helps prevent cracks and cracks on the face. Vitamin C is an antioxidant that helps build the skin barrier and collagen and protects against sun damage. Vitamins D and E protect against sun damage, and vitamin D reduces inflammation.
5. Maintain a healthy lifestyle
The key to healthy skin is an overall healthy lifestyle. For example, smoking can cause premature skin aging by breaking down collagen and reducing the skin's natural elasticity. It also slows wound healing and increases the risk of squamous cell carcinoma, especially on the lips. Smoking can also cause some skin diseases, such as psoriasis.
Managing stress is also important as it can lead to many skin problems such as acne, hair loss, flaky skin and breakouts. It is also recommended to reduce alcohol consumption as it can cause or stimulate redness, rashes, psoriasis, dermatitis and skin infections.
Ideally, you should aim to get seven to nine hours of sleep each night. Sleep is important for healthy skin. Additionally, regular exercise — about 150 minutes of moderate-intensity aerobic exercise per week — is highly recommended to keep skin firm and healthy.
