The New York Yankees traded rookie Frankie Montas to the Oakland A's in the 2022 MLB deadline, hoping that his presence can increase their rotation for a possible World Series run.

“It's like AA. It's not quite 100 percent,” Montas told the New York Post. “I try to deal with it. Of course they moved me to a new team and I wanted to show what I can do. It didn't turn out the way I expected. But I'm here to try and help this team and go out there and show what I can really do when I'm healthy."

Montas had been on the disabled list for several weeks after dealing with shoulder pain while at Oakland when the Yankees made a deal. However, the flash came after eight starts as Montas posted a 6.35 ERA.
