The YMCA of Metro Denver is holding Healthy Kids Day to promote emotional and physical wellness. The event will take place at five YMCA locations and will include many fun activities.

Some of it will replicate the YMCA program, such as exercise and STEM, fitness classes for all ages, job instructions that kids at one of our summer camps can follow, diet plans," said Amanda Skates-Preisinger, YMCA vice president of community wellness in Metro Denver.
Local fire stations, libraries and food trucks will be on hand. There will be bouncy houses and face painting. This is a national initiative of the YMCA USA. This has been the case for more than 30 years. People from all over the country will participate in it.
"The goal of the Y is to make kids feel healthy in mind, spirit and body," Skates-Preisinger told CBS News Colorado.

There will be resources for parents and their children. The aim is to inspire all families to keep their minds and bodies active during the summer months.
"Have fun, hang up, get off your to-do list, have fun with your kids," says Skates-Preisinger.

Metro Denver YMCA Healthy Kids Day is free to the public. It will take place on Saturday, April 29, 2023 from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm at YMCA facilities in Arvada, Aurora, Littleton, Southwest Denver and University Hills.
