I Stopped Wearing Foundation And Mastered A Glowy, Makeupfree Skin Routine Thanks To These $32 Tanning Drops
  • I ditched foundation earlier this summer and have perfected my signature no-makeup look ever since.

  • I replaced the medium coverage foundation with Paradise Island Scalp Drops.

  • Since then, I have the confidence to go makeup free and love my glowing, even skin.

Earlier this summer I stopped wearing foundation. There was nothing noble about it, so much as a statement that defied beauty standards. In fact, ever since I got my nose pierced, I try to minimize the amount of bacteria I introduce to the area with sponges and makeup brushes.

In order to speed up the healing process of the piercing, I'm going to ditch my usual foundation and tinted moisturizer, but I still want to look ready for work and social gatherings.

So I turned to skin drops and found my daily routine without makeup.

I started by using the Paradise Island Scalp Drops in medium shade.

I have been a bronzer for part of my life and have tried the St Tropez tanning mousse line and the Jürgen tanning lotion. Last fall, after using Paradise Island's scalp spray, I bought the brand's face drops, which are $32 at Paradise Island or $29 at stores like Sephora.

However, until July, the drops were practically not used. I've used it here and there, but I've never really integrated it into my daily life in a big way.

Until I needed something other than foundation to even out my skin tone and make me look dewy and radiant. I started using the drops regularly at the end of July and only wore foundation for my girlfriend's wedding.

My skin looks clear, my acne is healing, and I haven't had a breakout in weeks.

The drops come in light, medium and dark, and I prefer medium. I usually put a drop or two on my face after showering and within hours I have natural looking skin.

Before work or going out, I apply highlighter to my cheekbones, fill in my brows, and leave in 15 minutes — without makeup, for sure. At the time I hated going out with friends on nights out without makeup, but now I think my skin is clear and I like the way I look.

Also, even though I feel like I'm getting breakouts after using foundation, I haven't had any major breakouts in weeks, and I haven't had any problems with my nose ring.

While I certainly don't commit to using foundation forever (I still like full coverage on occasion), I've ditched my normal no-maintenance skincare routine.
