
Priority Health Grand Rapids, Michigan's second-largest health plan, has launched a program to reduce costs and reward members who put health first.
Priority Well joins a range of incentive options available to large employer groups participating in the Digital Health and Wellness program, which will launch in 2022.
PriorityWell assists members and makes recommendations on programs that meet their health needs. Members choose programs related to their goals, including daily interactive content, healthy habits, and more.
Also featured are 80 individual and group sessions focusing on exercise, healthy eating and stress management. When members track their activity, they receive rewards.
The latest PriorityWell Choice Benefits program offers members lower expenses when pursuing activities based on their interests and goals. Activity and results are tracked on the Priority Health Wellbeing Hub, a digital platform powered by Virgin Pulse, a global digital health, wellness and navigation company.
Members can also earn Pulse Cash, which can be redeemed for retail and restaurant gift cards, fitness accessories, or converted into a charitable donation.
A 2022 U.S. Chamber of Commerce study found that employers who invested heavily in health insurance plans with wellness programs tended to see an almost 50% higher return on investment. . Previous research found that 87 percent of employees consider health and wellness packages when choosing an employer.
Wellness programs are a win-win for employers and employees, says Alicia Coronas, vice president of product and marketing for employer solutions at Priority Health.
