While Costco has no shortage of packaged junk food, it also has plenty of good-for-you foods. Since most of them come in giant packages, filling your kitchen with healthy foods is easier than ever.

You'll invest $60 in a Gold Star membership or $120 in an Executive membership because you know you'll get your money back many times over. However, you never know what deals you can find on healthy foods and whether it's cheaper to buy those at Costco.

To get you started, GOBANkingRates reviews seven healthy products for your kitchen. Check out these items and how they compare to similar products in competing stores.

Packed with Kirkland cheese, fruits and nuts

Price: $13.99

Kirkland Premium Healthy Cheese, Fruits and Nuts packages contain 16 1.5-ounce servings. eight packages of natural sharp cheddar cheese with sea salted cashews and dried cranberries; The other eight include roasted almonds and dried cranberries with natural white cheddar cheese and sea salt.

The healthy, inexpensive snacks are only 88 cents each. By comparison, Sargento Balanced Breaks, $3.39 for a three-pack at Target, and 1.5 ounces of natural white cheese, salty sea almonds and dried cranberries are $1.13 each.

Made in a peanut-free facility, Kirkland Gluten-Free Kosher Almond Butter comes in a large 27-ounce jar. If you look closely at that price, you'll find that it's only 28 cents an ounce.

By comparison, Whole Foods sells a 16-ounce container of 365 Everyday Value branded organic butters that are unsweetened and unsalted for $11.99 — 75 cents off. It's an outright steal, but the Kirkland alternative is three times cheaper than Whole Foods.

Plain Mills Sea Salt & Almond Biscuits

Price: $12.99

Crispy Oven Toasts are almond flour crackers lightly ground with sea salt that are made with special ingredients and come in two 10-ounce packages. That's only 65 cents an ounce.

No doubt you have seen this healthy brand in other stores. For example, Walmart sells these crackers for $4.48 in a 4.25-ounce box—that's $1.05 an ounce. So you can save 60% when you shop at Costco.

Wild Alaskan Salmon Fillet from Northwest Fish

Price: On sale for $159.99, usually $209.99

On the surface, the price may seem exorbitant, but you get 10 pounds of salmon. Specifically, this package contains at least 25 Northwest fish, Wild Alaskan Suki Salmon weighing 4-6 ounces each - $16/lb.

Alternatively, if you want salmon but don't want to spend a lot, go to Moray's Marinated Wild Alaskan Salmon Fillet. You can get 2.25 pounds of salmon -- six fillets -- for $27.49, or $12.22 per pound.

Of course you can buy frozen salmon cheaper than other stores. For example, Safeway Waterfront Bistro offers a 32-ounce wild Alaskan pink salmon fillet for $14.99—that's $7.50 a pound.

Kirkland's signature organic sauce

Price: $10.19

Whether you're looking for healthy party food or really love salsa, Costco has you covered. With this purchase, you'll get a 38-ounce bowl of Kirkland's Premium Organic Sauce - Medium Spicy Level for just 14 cents.

By comparison, a 35-ounce bowl of 365 Brand Organic Thick & Chunky Medium Salsa is $5.99 at Whole Foods. That's 17 cents an ounce, so you'll save 20% when you buy salsa from Costco.

Kirkland Signature Chicken Breast, Boneless Skin

Price: $31.99

Kirkland boneless, skinless chicken breasts come individually frozen in resealable bags for easy storage. The chicken, which sells for $4.92 per kilogram, is raised in the United States and is 100% antibiotic-free.

If you're looking to splurge a little, Costco also sells Kirkland Boneless Skinless Chicken Tenders for $23.79 to $3.97 a pound.

Closer in price, but slightly cheaper, Target sells 2.25 pounds of frozen Tyson All-Natural boneless and skinless chicken breast for $11.29 to $4.50 a pound.

Kirkland extra virgin olive oil

Price: $36.49

You can get two 3-liter bottles of Kirkland Long Lasting Extra Virgin Olive Oil. If you break that out, it's about 18 cents an ounce.

By comparison, a 33.8-ounce bottle of Kroger's Extra Virgin Olive Oil costs $8.49 - 25 cents an ounce. So when you buy Costco olive oil, you save 40%.

Of course, most olive oils have a shelf life of 18 to 24 months when bottled, Healthline reports. So unless you cook a lot, buying olive oil in bulk at Costco isn't worth it.
