Kerr Happy For Klay's Healthy Summer Spent 'on Cloud Nine'

There have always been good feelings for Klay Thompson, but there seems to be new energy coming from the Warriors star since his triumphant return to the court.

From dancing on the floating deck to beer at baseball games, it's clear that Thompson is celebrating his fourth ring - and his health - by spending the summer of his life. His coach Steve Kerr noticed this and was very happy for the hardworking athlete.

"We texted that day and he's having a great summer," Kerr told 95.7 The Game "Damon and Rat" Thursday. "Now he's in such a great place to be back and healthy, and his brother Trace [Thompson] is hitting home runs for the Dodgers."

Thompson's fun-loving spirit was on full display in July at Dodger Stadium, where he celebrated the Warriors' last NBA title by drinking beer and feeding everyone around him while Triss scored twice.

And just last week, Thompson was in full vacation mode, posting videos of him diving from a boat into blue waters and dancing happily in a fedora.

It's a far cry from how the Golden State veteran went through grueling rehab last summer, recovering from two devastating injuries. But in January, he returned to the Warriors and helped them return to NBA championship glory.

Now he can reap the rewards of that success before the start of the 2022-2023 NBA season, of course, with more gym work in between all the fun.

Because once the Warriors get back on the court, Kerr thinks Thompson will be in better shape.

"Clay is in seventh heaven right now," Kerr said. "He can't wait to get on the pitch and I expect him to be more consistent this year with a foundation of fitness, consistency in good health and the ability to train all summer long."

With that kind of faith, Dub Nation might just join Thompson in seventh heaven.
