The Bulls have high hopes for next season, and most of that rests on the shoulders of star duo DeMar DeRozan and Zach LaVine.

Both players had a great season last year and want to build on that this year and bring the Bulls back to the playoffs. After spending a week at training camp, the two talked about how they plan to live together this season.

When DeRozan signed with the Bulls in 2021, many pundits questioned his compatibility with the versatile LaVine. However, the two quickly put these concerns to rest as they form one of the most dynamic duos in the league. Each of them averaged more than 20 points per game and also posted good numbers across the board.

This season the goal is to speed things up and help the Chicago Bulls return to the playoffs for a deeper run. And even though they are under pressure to perform, they are both looking forward to the challenge.

"I can't tell you how many times I talked to him this summer, I just let him watch and do my leg. I wanted to be with a healthy Zach. The whole year was something I dreamed about every night , ” DeRozan said. .

"It can be very exciting for us and scary for others."

Health is the most important thing

With LaVine suffering a knee injury at the end of the 2021-2022 season, the Bulls were forced to rely more on DeRozan. And while DeRozan rose to the challenge, he was visibly angry, especially in the playoffs.

"We always talk about making things easier for others. Having so many ups and downs and not having each other makes it difficult for both of us. "Having a healthy Zach and a healthy me makes our jobs and the jobs of those around us so much easier," DeRozan shared.

Only DeRozan and LaVine are famous basketball players. But when they are on the field together, they really shine. And with a full season and a fairly healthy roster, the sky's the limit for this Bulls team.

"Better hitting, easier performances and helping this team win. That's the point. But with another year behind us, I think it's only going to get better, especially if we're both healthy," LaVine added.
