If you've ever wondered the secret to Salma Hayek's glowing skin, you'd be forgiven for thinking that, like many others, in public or out, the Mexican-American star uses Botox. However, the star is open about the keys to her glow, radio frequency treatments and believe it or not, meditation.
Feeling Zen has never felt so good, and it seems like a big part of Hayek's skincare routine is spiritual. Yes, you heard that right, the star says it's for a daily practice: meditation.
The Frida star spilled the tea while appearing on Kelly Ripa's Let's Talk Off Camera.
Ripa, admiring her guest's natural beauty, asked her if she had tried Botox, and years later she said she never had.
"No botox!" said Hayek. Ripa replied in disbelief. "You're amazing!"
For this legendary star, everyone has to use the power of their power to be spectacular.
"I know what it is," he explains, "because of a lot of things in my body and health problems, I've kind of developed this weird meditation that I keep developing. I can do it for hours because you don't feel the time, and it's so much fun."
There's no denying that the ancient practice has scientifically proven benefits, and hordes of spiritual enthusiasts are downloading the best meditation apps. It's safe to say that meditation is a must.
However, Hayek's method is a little more personal and unique to him. "It actually feels like energy," he explained. "And it moves and dances inside you, different feelings and sensations."
Of course, meditation isn't the only thing keeping her cool, as the star has revealed she loves radio treatments to firm and sculpt her face.
According to Healthline, "Radiofrequency (RF) therapy, also called radiofrequency skin tightening, is a non-surgical method of skin tightening. The procedure uses energy waves to target the deepest layer of the skin, called the dermis. This heat stimulates collagen production.
"So I machine a lot of frequencies, and they work better on me than anyone else," says Hayek. "And just thinking about it... sometimes when I do that, when I walk out of the room, people say, 'Oh my god, you look like you're 20 again,'" she added.
According to the actress, although the strengthening treatments are effective, she believes that they are actually more effective because of her daily practice.
"People who make cars say the results I get, they don't get with other people," he said. He adds that he notices a difference when he switches to his regular meditation practice.
“When I don't [meditate] for a while, guess what? Not only does the face fall off and everything starts to fall apart, [but] the slipped disc, the neck problems, the hip problems, the ankles [come back. I'm starting to fall," he says.
Although it can be described as pretty clear physical evidence, Hayek said her husband, François-Henri Pinault, was quite skeptical.
"He doesn't believe my husband," she said, "but when he gets really bad ... he says, 'Do you do yoga?' He won't even call it that."
