Concealer and mascara are the two most used products in my makeup bag. Even on the busiest days, if I have a meeting or I'm going somewhere, I might need two seconds to do both. Mascara is easy on me, but I'm a little picky when it comes to concealer. However, Tula Radiant Skin Brightening Serum Concealer ($32), which launched on July 31, is right in my routine.
My makeup style describes me as minimalistic, effortless and natural. I love a light, shimmery finish that can't be traced. That said, I still want to cover the dark circles and spots on my chin. It's a tall order for a concealer, but Tula's new formula succeeds and more.
This skincare/cosmetics hybrid is an extension of the brand's Radiant Skin line, which is home to the Brightening Serum Skin Tint SPF 30, another favorite of mine. In keeping with the cotton principle, despite being a makeup product, cotton is infused with ingredients traditionally found in skin care. Not only does it provide immediate results, it improves your complexion over time. What more could you ask for in a basic product?
Ahead, I am sharing my full concealer review.

What I love about Tula Radiant Skin Brightening Concealer Serum
There's a lot to love about the Tula Radiant Skin Brightening Concealer Serum, from the formula to the results. It might be categorized as a makeup product, but it contains great skin care ingredients. Rainbow Algae and Niacinamide help brighten skin by protecting it against free radicals and pollution. Meanwhile, the peptides and caffeine in the tea leaves help heal dark circles and bags under the eyes.
Its silky, serum-rich texture blends with minimal effort, leaving you with a flawless natural finish that minimizes blemishes while making you feel like a second skin. Even in summer you feel weightless. I got the shade 120, a light neutral shade, perfect for my skin tone.
How to use Tula Radiant Skin Brightening Serum Concealer
Tula Radiant Skin Brightening Serum comes in a tube with a doe foot applicator. This makes it easy to strategically remove dark spots and dark circles. I alternate between using a damp makeup brush and a blending sponge, depending on my mood. Both work well, but the brush provides fuller coverage while the puff thins it out.
If I really want to hide textured and discolored areas, like pimples, I use the "wet" makeup technique to get a little thicker coverage. I then set it all in value with a setting powder. I've used the concealer alone and on top of the skin brightening serum - both options are great.
What to consider before trying Tula Radiant Skin Brightening Serum
Tula Radiant Skin Brightening Serum is a great choice for anyone looking for sheer to medium coverage with a natural look. However, in my personal experience, the formula is a bit thinner than most full coverage products on the market. If you're someone with a lot of texture that you want to cover, you might want to consider a creamier formula.
After a few hours of use, I started to notice some fine lines under my eyes and around my face, but the loose powder helped.
