Paris Fashion Week was amazing. The City of Lights turns into a grand stage where fashion visionaries can realize their wildest imaginations. Muses filled the streets in outfits that broke all ready-to-wear rules. I'm especially excited to see real celebs finally break out the actors' act for their best fashion week yet. The freshest, boldest and most inspiring collections at the fair give us a glimpse of creative genius.
John Galliano's handmade collection for Maison Margiela was in every way the long-awaited return to fashion. Inspired by French-Hungarian artist Brassa's voyeuristic photography style, the collection "explores the ritual of dressing and the clothes we wear as physical expressions of emotion." The dresses were “imagined for moonlight walks along the River Seine, perfect for models and muses whose skin glowed like porcelain in the light of a Parisian night.
The collection is talked about as much as the beauty of the images created by Pat McGrath for the show. Dame Pat McGrath, one of the most famous make-up artists of her generation, creates porcelain glass canvases with the faces of her models. “Create a natural glass effect by prepping your skin with Divine Skin Rose 001 The Essence ,” says her team at Pat McGrath Labs. This biphasic essence contains Rose Biotic Complex to soothe and restore balance. Floral antioxidants protect skin from environmental influences, while vegetable oils restore dull and dehydrated skin. Gently pat onto damp skin to retain moisture.
To get the perfect foundation, McGrath uses her eponymous brand, Skin Fetish. The Foundation of Sublime Perfection. Created with 25 years of experience as a makeup artist, this smooth, serum-like blend is a buildable product. The finish is sheer, has almost no color and can provide medium coverage. Leaves a soft satin finish on the skin to create an ideal porcelain complexion. Leather Fetish. Sublime Perfection Foundation is available in 36 versatile shades.
Cream blush is the key to creating doll-like blush. “For the perfect cheek glow, apply and blend Divine Blush. Legendary Light Color Balm for blush,” explains the McGrath team. McGrath recommends colors like Peach Lotus or Sunkissed Seduction. The great thing about this multi-purpose balm is that its colors are designed to suit different skin types. Functions to give a youthful appearance to the skin, both on the lips and cheeks. Divine Blush also contains moisturizing active ingredients, shea butter, squalene, and passion fruit extract.
The couture collection is about art, entertainment, vision and storytelling. The otherworldly pieces showcased on the runway inspired looks that would define the season. We capture interesting details and ideas and find unique ways to integrate them into our unique fashion journey. The same goes for the makeup artists who bring life behind the scenes. In the case of Pat McGrath from Maison Margiela's 2004 artisanal collection, the beauty world agreed that porcelain skin would be a top makeup trend this spring. Regarding the mystery product that helps achieve a noticeable, moon-like, pore-free finish, Pat McGrath writes: "All will be revealed soon."
